The PCV valve on Your 2008 Chevy Suburban is located at the intake. The valve is located in a small plastic housing and has a tube that is running from Your crankshaft up to it. The PCV valve has the job of recirculating the gases that are in Your crankshaft back into Your engine. Once they enter the engine they can be safely burned off in the combustion chamber. This helps reduce the total emissions from Your SUV by forcing the gases that are in the engine to be burnt off and go through the catalytic converter and out the exhaust. On older vehicles these were just released into the atmosphere and that increased the carbon footprint of the car.
