The camshaft position sensor provides optimal fuel economy and smooth handling of the 2010 Ford F-150. To locate the CPS, look under hood in the engine bay. Camshaft position sensor 1 should be mounted on the passenger's side of the bay and the front of the right cylinder head. The sensor 2 is found at the front of the engine's left cylinder head. Over time, they can become damaged or malfunction due to condensation build-up, especially if the truck is not driven regularly. The amount of fuel and air needed to create combustion and spark is determined by data collected by the CPS. If this information is faulty, driving will become impaired and experience a drop in mpg, rough idling, stalling, "stumbling" or slow acceleration.

This is located on the cylinder head of the vehicle, beneath the timing belt cover.
