The speed sensor in a 2010 Ford Focus can be found on the passenger side of the transmission at the output shaft. This sensor is designed to measure the rotational speed of Your driveshaft. When this sensor measure the rotational speed it will send that information to Your ECU. From there the ECU will do the math and be able to show You the speed that You are going on the speedometer in Your dash. If this sensor fails You will usually notice that Your speedometer is not working properly. You will also usually get a check engine light at Your dash. This will let You know that there has been a communication error with the sensor and it will need to be replaced.
