The starter motor on a 2010 Ford Focus is located at the base of the engine near where the transmission bolts up to the output shaft from the engine. This is an electronic motor that has the job of turning over the engine when You start the ignition. If You hear clicking or grinding noises coming from the starter motor that is usually a sign that there is a problem with it and that it may need to be replaced. The first thing You should check is to make sure that all the wiring to it is connected tightly and that it is free from any signs of damage that could cause it to short out and not work properly.

To enter the starter motor, you can remove some parts, and the exact parts differ according to the type of engine the car has. On a 2.0-L engine it helps by loosening the clip to remove the air cleaner outlet tube from the throttle end. Also unbolt and remove the power steering pump without disconnecting its lines; on some 2.3-L engines you must do this too. Remove the m onto a zetec-e engine
