You'll find the transmission control module (TCM) on the 2011 Chevrolet Malibu located at the top of the transmission, bolted down inside of the bell housing. A brand new TCM can run the gamut from $385 for the Dorman 609-018 through $750 for itS609-008, and they tend to be manufactured, even at those prices. Additionally, You'll need to have them progRammed using the OEM software, which GM isn't likely to make available to You. Some indications that Your TCM is failing is that You experience stalling when You're changing gears, or fail to be able to change gears at all. You may also find that tranny won't downshift when You're at a stop, or juSTSticks in neutral. Conversely, You might not be able to upshift when You accelerate.
