The barometric pressure sensor on a 2012 Chevy Cruze can be found on the intake manifold and it is able to measure the ambient air pressures where the vehicle is at. This can be useful in helping the engine run well at different altitudes. When You drive at higher elevations the air is thinner and that can lead to Your engine running poorly. With a barometric pressure sensor it can read the outside air pressure and that will allow Your engine to compensate for the difference in air pressure. This can let the vehicle have more air in the engine so that the compression ratios stay correct to keep the engine running at peak performance.

Look in the intake manifold of the rear of the engine to locate the barometric pressure sensor.
