The 2012 Chevy Equinox fuel filter can be found in the fuel sending unit that is located in the gas tank. The filter is located on the same assembly as the pump. If You notice a decrease in fuel to Your engine, or decreased fuel pressure then it could mean that the filter is clogged. It is designed to filter out any debris and impurities in Your gasoline so that it does not clog up the fuel lines or the injectors. Usually if You have very low pressure it will throw a check engine light to let You know that there is a problem that was detected with the fuel system.

The furl filter on the 2012 chevy equinox is in the fuel tank, part of the fuel pump assembly. Its not a serviceable part unless you need a fuel pump.
