The PCV valve in a 2012 Chevy Malibu can be found on the right side of the engine near the intake manifold. This is on the valve cover area and there are wires that run to it. The PCV valve on your vehicle lets exhaust gasses back into the engine. This is to help reduce the total amount of emissions generated by your car. When the emissions go back through the engine they are burned again and that helps them be removed safely. If you have a failing PCV valve you will usually get a check engine light and it will let you know that the communication with the valve has been lost. The simplest way to fix the problem is to just replace it with a new one.
