The 2012 Ford Focus has an oxygen sensor (o2) in the downstream of the evap system. This means that it can be located after the catalytic converter, while the upstream sensor can be found before the converter. If the sensor is faulty, You will experience symptoms such as the check engine light coming on, a lack of gas efficiency, a putrid smell reMINIscent of rotting eggs emanating from the exhaust pipe, and hesitation of the engine while driving. If the sensor needs to be replaced, You can expect to pay between $12 an $45 for a new one. If You have it replaced by a service professional, You will need to pay an additional $50 to $180 for labor.

You can find the downstream o2 sensor in the exhaust, by the catalytic converter.
