The starter in a 2012 Ford Taurus is located on the front of the engine block at the base of it next to the radiator. This is the electronic motor that turns over Your engine when You try to start it. If Your vehicle is having trouble starting it is usually either the starter motor or the battery. When You try to start it if You get no sound at all that is usually a sign of a dead battery. If when You try to start it You hear the starter motor either click, or grind, then that is usually a sign of a bad starter motor. Always make sure that the wires are tight on Your starter as well because loose wires can lead to it failing to work.

The starter on the ford taurus is located on the front of the engine, towards the radiator. There might be a plastic splash shield to remove.
