The evaporator canister purge valve is located beneath the air filter and intake hose on Your 2013 Ford Escape. It opens at specific times to let fuel vapors stored in the canister be drawn into the intake manifold and burned as part of the combustion process. One of the firSTSymptoms that a faulty valve may produce is a rough idle. Another symptom commonly associated with a faulty valve is difficult starting. It may also set off the Check Engine Light. The more You drive the vehicle with a bad purge valve, the more You will harm other parts. It is necessary to fix the problem eventually.

The purge valve is located beside air filter box under intake hose. IT is not located in the rear on the canister!!!!! The valve on the canister is the vent valve! Purge valve in front and vent valve in the rear!
