The cam sensor is located in the valve cover near the top of the engine. They look like small silver and gold plugins that can be seen on the cam. The sensor is in charge of making sure the cambelt is keeping the correct rhythm for the car. What this means is that the engine ports are opening and closing when they should, thus making sure the engine is creating the correct amount of power. A bad sensor can lead to stuttering and stalling, so You will want to make sure that You don't ignore one. They are easy and cheap to replace, likely costing less than 20 or 30 dollars, so there is no reason to ignore one.
