The mass air flow sensor in a 2014 Chevy Malibu can be found next to the engine air filter housing that is at the front of Your engine compartment. It is a small black plastic sensor that has wires running to it. The mass air flow sensor in Your car is designed to measure the amount of air that is moving through Your intake. It relays this information to Your vehicle's ECU so that it knows how long it needs to open the throttle body to get the air to fuELRatio correct in Your engine. If You have a mass air flow sensor that is failing You will usually get a check engine light. You may also notice the engine in Your car running rougher than normal.
