The factory amp for all trim levels of the 2016 Chevy Malibu is going to be found underneath the back seats. You're going to need to remove these seats in order to access it. There will be several bolts on each side that need to be undone and then the seats will be able to taken out in pieces though depending on what job You're doing You may only need to remove one seat. The amps used in these vehicles was not very powerful to begin with so many owners have decided to replace them with an after market one. These can range in cost from $200 to $500+.
