Finding the coolant temperature sensor on the 2004 Ford F-150 5.4 liter engine truck can be a bit complicated. For this model, the sensor can be found inside the engine bay, on the passenger side of the vehicle. You will need to look to the right cylinder head, which is found below the intake manifold. If You were looking for the sensor in the 6.2 liter, You would find it on the right cylinder head in front of the exhaust manifold, and for the 7.4 liter engine, it would be found in the center of the head, above the manifold. If the sensor has failed, it will need to be replaced. This can cost You between $23 and $83 for parts alone.
