The license plate light is part of the tail light fuse set for the Ford Focus. You will find these fuses inside the cabin on the right side of the Focus where the passenger sits inside the glove box. The tail lights and license plate work with a relay powered by fuse #30. The lights themselves are controlled by fuse #40. If #30 is blown the relay isn't working. If #40 is faulty, the relay will work but the lights won't illuminate. The Focus contains two other boxes. One is installed under hood in the engine bay and is called the "Power Distribution Box" and the other is stored in the rear cargo area behind the left side wheel well.
