The heater core in a 2006 Ford Fusion can be found under the middle of the dash. It is one of the most difficult parts to get to in a car and that means that replacing the core can usually cost over $1,500even thought the part is only about $100. If Your heater is not working the first thing that You should check are the lines that run from the thermostat to the heater core. If the thermostat is not working then the heater core will not be working either. If You want to test Your heater core for leaks there are UV dyes You can inject into the system and if there is a leak You will be able to spot the dye in the vehicle.
