The oil fitler in a 2015 Toyota Corolla is located next to the oil pan on the bottom of the engine. It is mounted sideways in a black plastic housing with a nut on the top of it. The oil filter has the job of cleaning the oil as it goes into Your engine sot hat it does not bring any particulate matter into the narrow areas. Every time that You change Your oil You will need to change the filter as well. If You add new oil to an old filter then the new oil may pick up the contaminants that are on the filter. When You change Your filter always be sure to use a new gasket as well to seal up the oil system properly.

The oil filter is at the bottom of the engine oil area and it can be changed by jacking up the car.
