The oil filter in a 2017 Toyota Corolla can be found under the engine on the passenger side of it. This filter is a standard metal filter that threads into the bottom of the engine. To loosen this filter You will need A64.5mm filter wrench, and those can be found at most auto parts stores since it is a common filter size. When You reinstall the filter You should only install it hand tight though and confirm there are no leaks. If You over tighten it then it may get seized onto the bottom of the engine as it will heat cycle with the rest of the motor while it runs. I recommend always using an OEM or higher quality filter to make sure to protect Your engine from debris in the oil.
