The 2002 Toyota Tundra vehicle speed sensor is located on the back end of the tail housing on the transmission. You will have to jack up the vehicle and crawl underneath to gain access to the speed sensor. The speed sensor is used to measure how fast the vehicle moves and will send that information to other vehicle systems including the tachometer. This also helps the transmission unit to help control the gears and adjust torque converter for the optimal efficiency and power. The cost for a replacement speed sensor will vary from $20 - $50 depending on the if its an aftermarket or OEM product.
