The 2001 Ford F-150 starter relay is located in the fuse paneler underneath the hood on the driver's side of the engine bay. The box is near the back of the engine bay near the firewall and You can see a cable connecting to the starter. The cost for a replacement starter relay will vary from $15 - $30 depending on if its an aftermarket or OEM product. The dealership or a mechanic can also do the replacement for You for a small fee and usually costs about $50 - $60 including parts and labor. When putting in a new relay always inspect to see if the wires are still connected and there is no corrosion on the wires. You can also check to see if any other fuses have blown with the starter relay.
