There is no trunk release button in a 2019 Chevy Malibu that is inside the cabin of the vehicle. There are two other ways to open the trunk though. The first way to open the trunk is simply to press the trunk release button that is on Your key fob. If You have this with You while You are sitting in the car this is the best way to open it. The second way to open the trunk is to press the button that is under the ledge on the trunk when the vehicle is fully unlocked. This will allow the latch to release and it will open the trunk as well.

To "answer" the question. There is NO trunk release button anywhere inside the passenger cabin! Either you use the button on your key fob or there is a release "bar" under the ledge just above the license plate area.

Above the license plate isn't answering the question

GeneralMotors, this is why you cannot make cars Americans want to buy. Why in the world, from the point of view of SAFETY, design a vehicle without a trunk release inside the car?!??!?!?
How do I lock the trunk, I lock the car doors but it does not lock the trunk.
