If Your AudiQ7's trailer lights are failing to work, the most common issues all rest with Your trailer. It's possible that You have one or more burnt out bulbs, a bad electrical connector, or open or shorted wiring. Since these spend most of their time in the elements, it happens more often than one might think. If You're able, test Your trailer lights on another vehicle's connector. If they work, then You know that Your Q7 is to blame. It's not uncommon to have a bad ground on the connector, which unfortunately typically necessitates replacement. The good news is that the replacement part isn't too expensive, and if You're confident working with electrics, the swap shouldn't take You more than an afternoon.

A poor grounding connection, which is usually the white wire coming out of the trailer plug is the most common reason your Audi Q7 trailer lights are not working.
