There are a wide variety of reasons that the heated seats will stop working in Your Ford Fusion. The most common one for a vehicle that has been used for several years now is that the heating element within the seats has failed. These heating elements are pretty inexpensive costing between $15 and $25. This solution will be much more likely if it's only one seat that has gone out. If You have multiple seats that are not working then it's more likely to be a fuse or a wiring issue. The fuses will be easier and cheaper to replace so You should start with that first before looking in to the wiring.

Where would I find that element to change it out

The most common reason the ford fusion heated seats are not working is a faulty seat heater element, but could be faulty switch, electrical connection, or blown fuse.
