If 2010 Ford Ranger traction control light stays on then it means the car is not getting any assistance from the traction system. This system makes it so that the tires will grip better when You take turns, and so that You do not slide when You are driving. If You do not have the system in place then You are more likely to lose control of the car. While You can drive like this, it makes You liable in some states for larger penalties and is in general less safe. If the light is staying on then You need to take it to the mechanic. It can be caused by a number of reasons and they will need to take a look to find what the issue is.

The reason your ford ranger control light is staying on could be a defective, d***y or corroded wheel speed sensor, or a fault in the wiring that connects it.
