The noise coming from Your door on Your Ford Escape when You open it can be many different things. If You hearing a beeping noise that is a warning feature that is built in to the vehicle so that You know when a door is open. If You are instead hearing a grinding or clicking noise then there may be an issue with Your door. The door latches and hinges may need to be oiled or there may be some item that has gotten itself stuck inside it. You should use a flashlight and inspect the hinges and latches to see if You can see anything stuck in there.

Your ford escape may be making noise when the door is open for the following reasons. 1. Fuel pump as you have suggested. 2. Braking system as it charges up the pressure to the system.

Check the fuel pump as this is the leading cause of door noises in a ford escape.
