The 2002 Dodge Ram 1500's red flashing warning light illuminates on the driver's information dash and is usually associated with a weak or dead battery. The light can flash and disable the truck's other electrical components, gauges and lights. It is considered a "security malfunction" warning. To reset, either charge or change the Ram's existing battery. Disconnect charged battery cables for at least 15 minutes and up to an hour, before re-connecting them. The Ram should start and fire normally when fully charged and after a security reset. The red light can be triggered by driver error, such as leaving a door open when backing up and its illumination can effectively drain the battery within 15 minutes.
