When the cruise control is not working in Your 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 the first thing that You should do is check the fuse to the cruise control system. There are two fuses in Your truck for this, one is in the fuse panel under the dash and the other is in the panel in the engine compartment. If either of these are damaged then the cruise control system will not work properly. The next thing to check is Your vehicle's computer. You will need to use an OBD II tool to inspect the computer and see if there are any faults that are detected within the system. If there are then You may need to replace the computer to get it working again.
