The Silverados RPM gauge may stop working and cause the check gauge light to turn on, particularly on the 2007 model. This means that there is something wrong with the gauges and the systems that govern them in the vehicle. Most commonly, this occurs due to low levels of engine oils or other important fluids that are necessary for the gauges to function. In more serious cases, an electrical failure, either in the gauges themselves, or within the ECM, can cause the RPM gauge to stop working. If its an electrical issue, Youll likely need to consult with an expert. At this point, its best to take the car to the dealership or an auto shop to get it looked at.

If the check gauges light on the 2007 Chevy silverado comes on it is due to one of the gauges going out of range, such as your electrical system, low engine oil or other type of fluids being monitored through the gauges. It is also possible that one of the wires providing power to the gauge has shorted and is causing the gauge to not function.
