The most common reason why the key fobs on Chevy Cruzes stop working is that the battery on the fobs are dead. First, make sure this isnt the case. If it is, replacing the battery is as simple as locating the battery slot on the back, and swapping out batteries. If that doesnt solve the issue, there might be a problem in transmission or communication between the cars security system and the computerized module, or a firmware block that is preventing the fob from working. In these cases, its best to perform a complete diagnostic of the vehicle. This should allow You to pinpoint the exact cause, if it isnt due to a failed battery or fob.

Most of the time it’s probably the battery is dead unless your remote is kinda old it might be time to replace it

If the key fob stops working for your 2012 Chevy cruze, it probably needs a battery changed or needs to be reprogrammed.
