The first thing You should check when Your heated seats aren't working in Your 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, is that the fuse for them hasn't popped. That one's going to be in the fuse box inside the cabin, and is the most common reason for this issue. If the fuse appears fine, the next failure points are going to be a bad thermostat, and compromised wiring to the seat heating mechanism. Especially with the way that Chevy routes the wires, this is the next most common defect after a blow fuse. If those aren't the buggers, then You're going to need to check if the switch that controls the seat heating has failed, as well as actually checking the heating element within the seat itself.

If the heated seats are not working on the 2012 Chevy equinox then it could be a blown fuse, bad wires under the seat, or a bad thermostat.
