Why is my 2013 chevy cruze backup camera not working?

When the 2013 Chevy Cruze backup camera is not working the first thing that You should do is try to reset the head unit. If this has a software glitch that has caused it to freeze then the camera will not turn on properly and will not show up on the screen. If that does not solve the problem I recommend checking the actual camera itself. Make sure that the lens is free from damage and that the wiring at the back of the camera is tight and free from fraying. If that does not solve it then You should check to see if Your reverse lights turn on when the car goes into reverse. If they don't then that is a sign of a bad reverse switch that will need to be replaced.
