The Traction Control or the "TC" system in the 2013 Dodge Avenger becomes active when the wheel sensors detect unsafe or slippery driving conditions. It works by reducing power to wheels still making contact with the road while other wheels are slipping. TC is automatically enabled in the Avenger, and the TC light will illuminate when the system is active. However, both the ABS brakes and the Avenger's traction control are managed by one module. If both lights illuminate at the same time, it indicates a problem with the system. In most cases one of the wheel sensors the module depends on for proper engagement has been compromised. The cost to replace a wheel sensor on the Dodge Avenger averages between $150-$200 in parts and labor.

Abs and traction control lights may illuminate in your 2013 dodge avenger vehicle when driving over hazardous roads that cause wheel slippage, but also may be a sign your wheel sensors are faulty.
