Why is my 2013 Hyundai Elantra fuel gauge not working?

The 2013 Hyundai Elantra's fuel gauge may not work due to blown fuses. It is controlled by its own fuse as well as those for the fuel pump and instrument panel. If the Elantra's pump is failing drivers may witness erratic gauge readiings. Other issues causing its malfunction include a disconnected or faulty sending unit. The fuel gauge SU is connected at the tank in most cases. Additionally, broken or shorted wiring leading to the Elantra's instrument panel and/or gauges can cause their readings to fail. Cables running to the panel and the sending unit or behind the dash should be examined. Finally, the instrument's needle may need replaced.
