Some potential reasons for the volume not working in a 2018 Chevy Equinox is wiring issues, blown speakers, or a faulty head unit. If You turn on the radio and there's no sound, switch to a CD or auxiliary input. If You can get sound from these, that means there's likely a problem with the radio's ability to receive a signal. This is usually due to a damaged antenna. A blown fuse is a reason for Your radio not work. Remove the fuse from its holder. In some cases, You may need a small screwdriver to unscrew the fuse holder cap. Look at the fuse wire. If there is a visible gap in the wire or a dark or metallic smear inside the glass then the fuse is blown and needs to be replaced.

Or you pressed the volume control and put it in mute. Press once for mute / unmute. Press and hold for 3 seconds for OFF.

2020 Equinox started with radio on but no volume. Spotify played normal on dash screen but no sound. Blinker not even sounding. Tried everything. My solution: Pulled car into parking lot. Shut off. And walked away with my FOB key 50 ft and came back to car in 3 or so minutes. Started up and immediately heard starting dings. Tested blinker. Sound normal. :)
