Why is my BMW e46 electric mirrors not working?

If the electric mirrors in Your BMW E46 are not working, there are several things that would need to be checked to determine the exact cause. The easiest thing to check and also cheapest to repair would be a blown fuse. Check Your owners manual to find out which fuse controls the mirrors and pull it out of the fuse boxAnd hold it up to the light. Look at the filament to make sure it is intact, if it is blown replace it with one that has the same amperage rating and install it. If the fuse is good the next thing I would look at would be the switch. It's possible that the electrical connector going to the switch has become disconnected or the wiring is damaged. If the connector is still plugged in try unplugging it and looking at the pins inside the connector and plug to make sure there is no corrosion or damaged pins.
