If the touch screen is not working in a Chevy Sonic then the most likely problem is that the system has frozen. You will need to reset Your infotainment screen to get it working properly again. Always be sure to keep the software up to date in Your car to prevent it from freezing. If a reset does not solve Your touch screen problems then the next thing You will want to do are check the fuses for the radio if it is not turning on. If You find a damaged fuse then You will want to replace it. If neither of these fix the problem then it could be a screen or digitizer problem that will need to be replaced.
You may need to clean the screen to make sure that it is able to feel the fingers on the screen.
