The Honda Civic gear shift light might cease to illuminate for several reasons. One of those is the internal bulb being burned out or simply dying from age, and hitting the end of its lifespan. Since it is an electrical component, it is also connected to a fuse. If that fuse gets a power surge, or any anomaly to its supply of energy, it might blow up to save other elements. So this could also be an issue with the fuse needing replacement. If it is simply a dead bulb, then the bulb can be replaced to get it back working. The shift light is also connected by a cable, so there is also the possibility of the cable coming off and no longer making contact. Resulting in a shift light that stays off.

The Honda Civic gear shift light not working can be caused by many issues such as a burnt out bulb, blown fuse, or faulty wiring.
