In general if the radio Audio buttons or steering wheel controls have quit functioning on the Honda CR-V, it is due to a failed clock spring. The clock spring is equipped with a ribbon that electrically connects the horn, steering wheel controls and airbag to their power sources as the wheel is turned. If it becomes disconnected the Honda's horn and/or SW Audio buttons will also stop working. To locate the clock spring, remove the SW. It housed behind the assembly. The CR-V can also suffer from failed BCM, or "body control module". The BCM is responsible for sending data from the SW's buttons to the vehicle's sound system. If the car doesn't emit unusual noise while steering, have the issue diagnosed for circuitry failure.
