The Jeep Grand Cherokee memory seat not working is due to a bad fuse box. To get to the fuse box look to the left of the steering wheel look for a small seam or crack along the dash. Using a screwdriver or prybar You will want to pop this open. On the inside, You will find a bunch of fuses. On the back of the panel that You pulled open, You will see a diagram that will show You what each of the fuses is for. If this is not on the back of the panel then You can also find it in the owner's annual for the vehicle. Once You have figured out which fuse You need simply pull it out. The two sections that stick up should be connected by a thin strip of metal. If this has been broken then the fuse is no good and will need to be replaced. If this strip is there then the fuse is fine and can be popped back in. New fuses will cost You about 10 dollars, so they are pretty cheap.
Far more likely than Sherry's answer is that something has blocked either the track or the seat itself, and the resistance caused the controllers are no longer calibrated. I know because this has happened to me several times, and I very quickly got tired of paying $100 to have the dealer fix it (the first time, the cause was A CHOP STICK blocking the path). The repair is super simple: Get out of the Jeep, move the seat all the way back, then all the way forward, then all the way back again. The limits should now be calibrated again.

The following works for my 2019 Grand Cherokee Limited. Without depressing the brake, press the Start button so it says Run. Make your seat, mirror, etc. Adjustments. Press the middle button on the Memory pad on the driver's door for a second. Then press 1 for a second. If you adjusted your seat a bit forward, when you put your foot on the brake and start the car, the seat should move. Also when you turn the car off , the seat should move backwards to give you room to exit.

Brian Baumgartner (Nov 25, 2020) comment worked perfectly for my 2019 JGC - what a quick and simple fix. Moving the seat all the way forward and all the way back twice - recalibrated the seats and now they work perfectly - Profiles stored properly and Easy Exit setting all work again ! Thanks for the great tip ! Saved a 2 hour shop visit !!

Move full forward then full back a couple of time has restored my memory seat function. Very grateful for everyone’s input. The manual didn’t include that solution 🤣

I have been trying for months to get my2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee memory seat to work. I read through these answers, taken my car to the dealership and try to change the fuse. The only answer that worked for me was pushing my seat all the way forward and backwards while the car is on. It immediately worked perfectly. Thank you for all of your suggestions.

I have just found this page. I did the steps of running the seat all the way forward and then completely back 2x and then checked the memory and it was still there and the seat functioned 100% correct, even the easy exit setting. Thanks for the information.

Move seat all the way forward and all the way backward. Hit s1 or s2. That resets it. Then adjust to your preference and hit s1 or s2 again. Do this for each setting. Worked for my seat when recline one day went all the way back but rest of settings remained.
Move seat back and forward 2 complete times restored the memory settings and the easy exit setting on our 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland!! Thanks for this tip. The dealership got us for almost 100 bucks last time!

Perfect solution. Had something blocking full back range and the feature stopped working. Remove object, back / front / back and now it works. ‘21 GC.

Brian Baumgartner’s fix worked for my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee 85th Anniversary. Memory seat stopped working after I was vacuuming out my car. Started looking into fuses and wiring thinking I messed something up and then found this answer and worked perfectly. Thanks so much!

The power seat not working on the Jeep Grand Cherokee is caused by the motor being broken, or the wires providing power not working.
