They're several reason to cause the brake lights in a Kia Sorrento to not work. The first thing I would check is the bulb itself, this is the most common reason for them to not come on, and also the cheapest to repair. In order to remove the bulb, take a Phillips head screwdriver and remove the two screws from the lens cover. Pull the lens cover off and then grasp the bulb and pull it out of the socket. You will need a number 6418 bulb, push it in until it's fully seated. Finally replace the lens cover. It's a good time to change the other license plate bulb at this time as well. If replacing the bulbs didn't fix Your issue check the fuse box to see if there's a blown fuse otherwise You may have a wiring issue.

Like most exterior lights in your Kia Sorento vehicle the license plate lights may stop working if their bulbs, relay switches or wiring harness need replaced.
