The remote start system on a Lincoln will not work if the ignition is on or the alarm system is triggered. The single biggest thing that can cause a remote starter not to engage is a faulty or missing hood switch. This device gets installed under the hood of Your vehicle and prevents the engine from starting when the hood is up. That remote control on Your keychain does take batteries and, after some time, they are going to get weak (diMINIshing the range) and eventually go dead. You can go to Your local auto parts store and get a new key battery.

If your Lincoln remote start is not working you should reset the security system.
