A faulty fuse, a defective switch or plumbing, or a weak communication are the backup camera problems that do not work for the Toyota 4Runner. Cameras are electronic, and a blank screen, or one that displays only the backup guidelines, but does not display a file, may even be prompted by a progRam bug. The first thing You can do if there are any issues is restart the infotainment device and see if it solves the problem. You should also inspect the fuses to make sure there are no shorts or corrosion in the wire. You should take it to the dealership where they can run a diagnosis on the software/infotainment device and have it repaired if You can not find a fix. The cost for replacement cameras will range from $800 - $1200 including parts and labor.

I have a 2010 4Runner Limited (w/navigation system) and my backup camera is starting to quit working intermittently. When it doesn't work after shifting into Reverse, the map is what shows on the display instead of the backup camera view. The following day, it seems to work okay. Several days later, back to the same issue. Anyone have an answer as to what's going on?

The 2019 Toyota forerunner back up camera may stop working if it needs to be updated or has bad wiring
