Nine times out of ten, the cause of Your Toyota 4Runner's heated seats not working can be traced back to a wiring issue. Very rarely do the heating elements themselves fail, which is good news for Your wallet. Sometimes, it's as simple as the plug coming loose from the back of the switch; in times like these, the hardest part of the fix is accepting the shame of not thinking to check sooner. You may want to go through and test the wiring, test the switch, and test the fuse. Almost without fail You'll be able to trace the issue back to one of these three. Unfortunately, if it IS the heating element inside the seat itself, it's often not worth the cost to replace it.

If the heated seats are not working on the Toyota then it could be a blown fuse, bad wires under the seat, or a bad thermostat.
