If the VW Tiguan's touch screen quits it could be due to a faulty wiring connection, blown fuse or software issue. Any malfunction of an electrical interface can be caused by a blown fuse. Consult the owner's manual for the radio or touchscreen's fuse location. The system may also need to be rebooted to correct a software glitch or issue with the VW's technology. To perform a reset of the Tiguan's touch screen, depress the radio's power button directly below the digital display for 10-15 seconds. The stereo will turn off and a black screen will appear featuring a ticking clock symbol. When the reboot is completed, the screen will power on, and the reboot may reactivate the function of the display.

Don't listen to dealer advice to reinstall another touchscreen at 1k or more if it is indded your touchscreen. You can access your navigation system simply by inputting the address in your phone and using bluetooth, ask for Navigation, and the destination title. You're welcome.

Have been having the problem going on 2 years I was told there is a patch coming to repair the 2017 Tiguan. I radio does not require maintenance so I refuse to replace the radio on a car that is 5 years old. I have a vehicle that is 22 years old and the radio has never let me down. I feel we need to go as a group to get this resolved. There is power in numbers

I have had the same issue on and off for 2 years too. Now all touch screen “buttons” do not work. While trying to hook up Apple CarPlay, I can’t even select the button to connect to phone - so very frustrating. My car is only 5 years old too, this shouldn’t be happening!

Thank you for the advice. Just needed the 15 seconds hold of the power button and all is back to normal.

£1k! That's cheap. Sinclair VW in Swansea quoted me £2k to replace it. But I am a woman!

On my 2017 Tiguan, I held the power-on button(while the radio is on) until the screen went black. When the screen logo reappeared I released the power-on button and I was able to use the buttons. I had to do the same procedure while the radio was in in MEDIA mode so that I could switch CD tracks.

All cars made by Porsche (VW, Audi and Porsche) have excellent engines but very have mediocre radio equipment that breaks down after few years. I had had all three brands and had the same experience over and over.
