The Ford Fusion that is making a grinding noise when turning will usually be due to having a bad or damaged wheel bearings or cv boots. The hub or wheel bearings are used as a buffer between the axle and wheel to stop the friction between the parts. When the bearings are worn it can cause a grinding noise when You are turning the steering wheel of the vehicle. Some other effects of bad bears or cv joints are uneven tire wear, grinding noise, and loss of lubricant around the wheel bearings. The cost for the wheel bearing or hub replacement will range from $200 - $300 depending on the amount of labor required for the repair job. The wheel bearings should last approximately 100,000 miles or more but they can go bad from extreme wear and tear.

If you hear grinding while turning your ford fusion, you most likely have an issue with the bearings or cv boots.
