There are a few reasons that You might find that You FIAT 500 door won't open, but most commonly the pivot pin in the door will become corroded or otherwise damaged and eventually break. Before it completely breaks, the door will stick and be difficult to open. Many drivers note that the pin is poorly constructed, but luckily an aftermarket kit exists that includes a stronger pin; if You're replacing anyway, You may as well upgrade. Alternatively, You may be looking at a broken latch or linkage cable, though this is a bit more rare in the FIAT 500. Regardless, You know You have a mechanical (versus an electronic) issue, so You can begin You diagnosis and troubleshoot from there.

If a FIAT 500 passenger door won't open from the outside check the linkage cable to the latch.
