The ground on the tachometer is known for coming loose and cause the tachometer not to display on the MINI Cooper. Unplug it and check that the connection on the bottom of the tach is secure. The next easiest thing to rule out is by going to the footwell and check the fuses that match up with the pictures of gauges. Make sure the contacts are clean and the wire across the fuse is solid and not snapped or charred. If everything looks ok with the wires, it is possible the gauge itself is bad and would need to be replaced.

If the tachometer display in a MINI Cooper is not working, it most likely means a blown fuse, faulty speed sensor or other electrical issues.

Hi, my 2008 Mini Cooper odometer lights (mileage and time) won’t go out when I turn off the car and it’s draining my battery. We’ve tried disconnecting the battery but same thing happens when you reconnect. This started after we reset the dashboard after the tire pressure light went off. Any tips?

Azmina - That behavior can be a bad BC1 module especially if moisture has gotten into the footwell area (common). Were you able to solve the issue?
