After driving a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV for a few years, You may find that the heater has suddenly stopped working. There can be many causes behind this occurrence. First, You may be experience a broken heater blower motor. Symptoms of this include a weakening loss of airflow from Your vents, the fan getting stuck at one speed, or air no longer coming from the vents at all. The problem could also be caused by a failing thermostat. This usually occurs unexpectedly, and causes the engine to begin overheating, or leaking coolant to drip from the thermostat housing unit. Third, You may have a faulty heater blower motor resistor. This is indicated by weak airflow, the motor only working if it is set at a high speed, only working while set at a low speed, and the presence of smoke from the vents.
