The Mitsubishi Outlander's power liftgate can be opened by pressing the key fob, a control on the dash or a button on the outside of the hatch itself. Owners report the rear door becoming inoperable accompanied by 4 warning beeps> In these instances many drivers have inadvertently hit the liftgate's disable button. The control is slightly hidden above the Outlander's front cupholders next to the key fob slot in the driver's dash. The button can be accidentally activated by the driver's knee, causing the malfunction of the rear power liftgate. Other issues involve a faulty latch, the need for reprogRamming, broken cables within the hatch or a discharged key fob battery. These issues are considered universal and not specific to the Outlander.

If the power tailgate in a Mitsubishi Outlander is not working, it most likely means a loose connector or damaged wiring.

Depressing the lock/unlock button is not the issue. The inside the care control button works intermittently. Neither of our two remotes are working the tailgate despite the fact they both work the door locks and obviously the driving of the vehicle. Just bought the 2022 from the dealership two days ago. In Canada.
